Taking medication as prescribed is important in treating an illness or managing a condition. But it isn’t always as easy as it sounds! For many reasons, people miss a dose or two of their antibiotic, or even forget to have a prescription refilled before it runs out. Taking medication as directed by your doctor helps avoid complications. Here are some tips to help you stay on top of your prescriptions:
- Take the medication at the same time every day.
- Combine taking your medication with another part of your daily routine, like brushing your teeth or getting ready for bed.
- Use a pill container, and refill the container at the same time each week.
- When travelling, bring enough medication plus a few days extra to ensure you don’t run out.
